SPRING CLEAN your ‘tube’!

A friend picked me up for an amazing journey through our local Organic weekend markets.., I was feeling disheartened after ‘coming a cropper’ several weeks prior.., the consequence being to up my normal inner & outer nutriton regime to heal the outer scars, organise a multitude of dental appointments to fix my teeth, and being in the middle of quite the journey to healing through chriopractic!
Luckily I came across a fresh face at one of the stalls who exuded dynamic health, vitality, fitness and was willing to spend some time with me to ‘tweek’ what I could add to my rituals to speed up healing. He asked how long it was since I’d done a gall stone/liver cleanse.., & to be honest I just couldn’t remember so it had to be over 10 years ago. He shared – showed pics.., and a long story short .., he handed me a pamphlet of instructions that is freely available on the web & includes ingredients most of us have in our cupboards.
Well without graphic details.., I have to say I was surprised at the result and have to admit that I’ve been healing at a faster rate ever since. So if there’s any of you out there that are up for “Spring cleaning you tube” …just inbox me and I’ll connect you with this simple but effective process.

New Beginnings…SPRING is HERE!

 I know when I engaged the services of my coach, I was already into a daily routine of yoga, meditation, being in nature to ensure I grew and prepared healthy food, but I was still tired and overweight.

1 week to SPRING.., and only 12 weeks to SUMMER!

It’s still a little cool in the evenings in most places around Australia.., but we all know that changes soon! When I was 14kg overweight.., I didn’t look forward to summer…, I felt the heat more.., dreaded wearing ‘revealing clothes’.., so I wore baggy lose ones that made me hotter!! I’m sure many of you who have also suffered being overweight/obese know what I mean. CONGRATULATIONS to our biggest losers in SPRINGWOOD!

Here’s the EXCITING NEWS for those of you who couldn’t make it on Tuesday :~) …

THE BIGGEST LOSER for Springwood’s WLC was Jenny M !!!
WELL DONE Jenny.., She lost on average 1kg & 4cm bodyfat per week!

2nd place went to Tracy B who lost over 7.5% of her body wgt
and
3rd place to Di C who was just a smidgeon behind Tracy
and
4th place went to Sisko P ~ who lost the most cm after the top 3

And a special mention to Ursula W for reducing her Metabolic Age to 12 years less than her chronological age!

WELL DONE Ladies!

Over $500 in prize money was awarded and we had a fabulous evening sharing our healthy high protein meal and conversation around the table. There were some great recipes shared, so contact us if you would like to know more.

MAINTAINENCE is the key now …. to ensure you keep the weight & cms off, hydration & muscle tone up, body fat down and even aim for another goal over the next few months!

How Healthy Is Your Butcher?

Healthy snack from our butcherWhy does it matter you may be asking … for a start one of the most IMPORTANT aspects of maintaining a healthy body weight is PROTEIN!

Where does some of your protein come from?

The butcher of course, but if it all comes exclusively from the butcher then you may be at risk of a number of preventable diseases that can cause serious ill-health. This healthy snack of two chicken legs, with a small salad and a herbal energy tea is a healthy protein snack … and the chicken came from our local butcher.

It is always better to prevent the disease rather than have to find a ‘cure’ or treat the condition later.

The types of preventable disease that you could be putting yourself at risk of contracting include:

  • high cholesterol
  • high blood pressure
  • heart disease
  • stroke
  • some cancers

When I was young we bought most of our meat from the local butcher who was also a neighbor. He suffered from heart disease and stroke and died at an early age. One of my grandfathers was also a butcher and again suffered an early demise from heart disease in his sleep at the age of 61 which again is very young.

But shopping at your butcher is IMPORTANT … you need protein to build lean muscle and some of that protein can come from the leaner cuts of meta at your butcher. Just remember that protein is not just meat and indeed some people (ie vegetarians) do not eat meat, and while they possibly need to work harder to get an adequate amount of vegetable protein in their diet they often do.
